A blockbuster war epic is bound to call for a lot of weaponry, but the quality of the swords created for Warcraft are nothing Propstore has ever seen before. Made by WETA Workshop, the craftsmanship and artistry of the pieces is evident on everything from the hero to the stunt versions, with only a keen eye able to tell them apart. Looking to expand your arsenal? Then take a look now at the different makes of swords available in the Warcraft Auction.

Steel Bladed

Weighing in at roughly 15 lbs. each, the three steel blades in the auction are some of the few made for the film. Pieces like this are often made to be featured in close-ups and hero shots.

Aluminum Bladed

Aluminum bladed swords are often utilized by production for both close-ups and fight sequences. While the blade is metal and can even sound like steel when struck, the lighter material makes these blades easier to wield while filming.

Urethane Bladed

Another often used material is urethane, which can be made dense enough to hold its shape, but is lighter and safer to use than either aluminum or steel blades.

Dense Foam

The lightest and safest of all options, dense foam swords were made in abundance for the film for large army battle sequences.

VFX Half Swords

The rise of computer generated effects plays a large role in all aspect of film production, including the Property Department. With the heavy amount of battle sequences and CGI characters in the film, these half swords were made and affixed with tracking dots, which were used as guides for animators to re-create the full blade digitally.
