A hand-drawn Mariano Diaz sketch of Glaucus’ (James Cosmo) army soldier from the production of Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 mythical epic Troy. The ancient kingdoms of Troy and Sparta did battle to control the Aegean Sea. Glaucus was second-in-command of the Trojan armies and his soldiers wore their armour as they attempted to defend the city of Troy against the Spartan forces.

The costume was designed by Academy Award®-nominated costume designer Bob Ringwood and rendered by Diaz in graphite on paper. Labelled “44”, this sketch shows a front view of the soldier’s armour. The costume features a decorated shoulder plate, war skirt and helmet. The helmet is depicted in a Chalcidian style with a nose-guard, cheek plates and a feathered plume. The soldier is depicted in a defensive battle-pose, carrying a shield and a spear. Diaz’s autograph is hand-signed in pencil at the bottom of the illustration.

The artwork exhibits some light creasing around the edges but overall it is in very good condition.
