A hand-drawn Mariano Diaz sketch of Glaucus’ (James Cosmo) armour from the production of Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 mythical epic Troy. The ancient kingdoms of Troy and Sparta did battle to control the Aegean Sea. Glaucus was second-in-command of the Trojan armies and served King Priam (Peter O'Toole). Glaucus wore his armour in multiple scenes, including during a speech to his soldiers as they attempted to defend Troy against the Spartan forces.

The costume was designed by Academy Award®-nominated costume designer Bob Ringwood and rendered by Diaz in graphite on paper. Labelled “43”, this sketch shows a front view of Glaucus’ armour. The costume features a chest plate with ornate panels, a tasselled hip-plate; bracers, pauldrons, greaves and a helmet. Diaz’s autograph is hand-signed in pencil at the bottom of the illustration.

The edges of the artwork have been cut unevenly but it remains in very good overall condition.
