A Miniature Double Decker London Bus used in the 1998 Sean Connery, Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes retro revival of The Avengers. This miniature was used in the very snowy Trafalgar Square set, when Sir August de Wynter’s (Sean Connery) apocalyptic weather changing plan had been put into motion, and the entire landmark was scaled down to miniature size to accommodate the sheer scale of the live action effect.
The '23' Routemaster headed for Liverpool Street has little roll-able wheels and is a highly detailed version of the now decommissioned mode of public transport. It has advertising along each side and on the corners, details of the bus's route, a tiny numberplate and headlights. There are no seats inside but is glazed with acrylic, features the spiral staircase to the top floor and has remnants of the synthetic snow that covered this bright red piece right over the wheels. It measures approximately a whopping 44cm x23cm x 76cm (17.25” x 9” x 22”) and is still in great production used condition with some slight erosion to the metal chassis courtesy of the production's use of salt to simulate snow!
