A large retractable lapel pin dart used by Sir August De Wynter (Sean Connery) in Jeremiah S. Chechik's 1998 retro revival film The Avengers.
This special effects piece would have been used during a secret meeting attended by de Wynter and his co-conspirators. To preserve their anonymity, everyone is wearing large multicoloured teddy bear costumes.

This item is made from silver coloured metal and has two golden feathers on either side. The lower 6cm (2.5") of the dart retract up inside to give the illusion of stabbing when met with resistance. This mechanism is still fully functioning, and it comes presented in a custom-built display with laser-cut mount board featuring the movie title and stills. There are some small signs of wear from production use but overall this piece is in excellent condition.
