This lot will be auctioned on Sunday, November 6th. A pair of "White House Surrenders" Daily Planet newspapers from Richard Lester's superhero sequel Superman II. News of the President's (E.G. Marshall) surrender was displayed on a newsstand opposite the Daily Planet offices as Superman (Christopher Reeve), his powers restored, arrived to fight General Zod (Terence Stamp) and his Kryptonian cohorts.

Each newspaper's cover page is black and white and features images of a pensive President and a stern General Zod. To give the appearance of a full copy of the Daily Planet, the cover is wrapped around several pages of an October 1979 edition of the Windsor, Slough and Eton Express, a newspaper local to Pinewood Studios, where the film was shot. Both newspapers show some discolouration. Dimensions (each, folded): 31 cm x 43 cm (12" x 17")
