Stock #15583

"Why do you say this to me, when you know that I will kill you for it?"

A set of original design sketches from Richard Lester’s 1980 action packed film Superman II.

Superman (Christopher Reeve) agrees to sacrifice his powers so he can lead a normal life and start a relationship with Lois Lane (Margot Kidder). Little does he know, three Kryptonian criminals have been released and are trying to conquer Earth.

The set features original pencil drawn designs showing the scenes when Lex Luther (Gene Hackney) falls off Ursa’s (Sarah Douglas) back as she is flying and the carefully choreographed falling sequence before he lands astride her again. The set also has two sets of production made copies of the designs which include a copy of an alternative shot of the fall. The designs were drawn by Paul Weston and were instrumental in creating the memorable flying scenes in the film.

This set comes from the personal collection of Paul Weston, a stunt man and stunt coordinator in the first two Superman films as well as many other classic movies. Paul Weston was instrumental in designing and creating some of the revolutionary techniques and rigs for the legendary flying and acrobatic scenes for these Superman films.
