About The Artist: Harry Lange was a pioneer in his field, known for his ground-breaking work on many significant films including 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars. His designs helped to shape the modern sci-fi landscape and are still as relevant now as they were then. The Harry Lange Auction displays an exclusive collection of 70 lots of original hand-drawn artwork, production stills and more, from the legendary Art Director and Production Designer himself.

Disclaimer: This piece was attributed by the Lange family to 'Star Wars' and elements of the drawing bear a resemblance to C-3PO. However, the creation of C-3PO is well documented and Lange is not known to have been involved. It’s possible this work represents a one-off concept Lange did for an alternate take on the character, or was done for another space film drawing inspiration from C-3PO.
