The Captain's Shoulder Strap with Sheath and Stunt Dagger from the dark 2011 adaptation of the classic children's story Red Riding Hood. In the film, Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) is Red Riding Hood and she lives in Daggerhorn, a town terrorized by a werewolf that lives among them. The townspeople must determine who the wolf is and vanquish him before the town is destroyed.
The Captain (Adrian Holmes) can be seen wearing a shoulder strap housing his dagger and its sheath throughout the film. The shoulder strap is made from a thick, black leather belt that he wears around his right shoulder with the other end resting on his left hip. At the shoulder, there is a metal buckle and black leather belt loops as well as numerous metal buttons that secure one of the belt to the other. At the hip is a triangular section of leather where the two ends of the belt meet. A black leather sleeve is sewn onto this triangular section and can be tied shut with a black leather string woven through the sleeve.
Captain's dagger sheath rests snugly within this leather sleeve. The sheath is made from black leather with metal surrounding the tip and base and features a stunt rubber dagger handle on top. Made of rubber so as to be lighter and easier for the actor to handle during shooting, the handle of the dagger is highly detailed to resemble carved wood and metal. The mock blade that fits within the sheath is a simple a piece of plastic that has been wrapped in gaffe tape to help ensure a tight fit.
The belt measures approximately 60†(152 cm) in length, while the dagger is approximately 18†(46 cm) long. Both pieces are in very good, production-used condition.
