A NOS powered grappling hook gun from Justin Lin's action film Fast & Furious. During the film's climax, Owen Shaw's (Luke Evans) group attempts to flee on an aircraft but it is held down by Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) crew via the use of grappling hooks. Specifically, Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Ludacris) are seen interacting with the variation of grappling hook that uses a NOS tank for power.
This example of grappling hook is a stunt variation. Made from a foam urethane, the grappling hook is lighter than a real one and is safer for performers to use while filming. Painted to look as though it is made from metal, the tank also features a NOS sticker and is painted in the signature bright blue of other NOS products. Additionally, a hook piece made from resin is included with the gun.
This piece shows some signs of wear from production use and storage, including scratches to the paint and slight cracking to portions of the urethane, but remains in overall good condition.
