This lot will be sold on Tuesday, 1st December (day 1 of the auction.) Lots 1-463 will be sold on day 1 (lots 464-913 will be sold on day 2). The auction will begin at 2:00 pm GMT. Eva Peron's (Madonna) hat from Alan Parker's musical drama Evita. The Argentinian First Lady sported her hat in one of the pictures accompanying a newspaper article during the song "Rainbow High", in which she is shown becoming a national treasure to the Argentinian people.

Constructed from brown buckram, the small fascinator-style hat is decorated with a large bow made of brown felt and beige woven material. Brown netting fabric runs around the brim and a piece of elastic is adhered to each side. Three labels are adhered to the inside of the hat, including a "Bristol Old Vic" label which features handwritten text reading, "Evita, Madonna". Exhibiting minor wear from production use, the lot has become slightly misshapen over time, and two of the labels have begun to peel away from the interior.
