A magazine centre from the production of Alan Parker’s 1996 musical Evita.
This magazine centre and others like it were made for the production and throughout the film newspaper and magazine headlines and stories appear on screen, charting Evita’s rising influence. This particular one is not obviously seen on screen but there is a scene in which young women are sticking pictures of Evita from magazines up on a wall.
The centre is two-sided. One side features a picture of Madonna as Evita in a bathing suit and the other has pictures and articles in Spanish. The paper has been aged to look like it is from the mid-20th century. It curls from the way it has been stored but otherwise remains in an excellent condition.
