Eagle, The
Roman Shield
Stock #130314
A Roman shield from Kevin Macdonald’s 2011 historical action film The Eagle.
A young Roman officer attempts to recover the lost eagle standard of his father’s legion in Scotland.
This shield and others like it were made for the production and carried by Roman soldiers. It is made of wood with a red leather layer. It has a wooden handle, metal edging and a resin decoration on the front, which is hand painted to look like bronze. It has been intentionally distressed to look well-used and battle-damaged. The shield has some additional wear from production use and storage, including scuffing, scratches and damage to the decoration on the front. Overall it remains in a good condition.
Materials: Wood, Ferrous Metals, Leather, Resin.
