A Celt warrior's axe used in the Channing Tatum and Jamie bell Roman action movie The Eagle. Marcus Flavius Aquila (Channing Tatum), a Roman legionary retired due to a grievous wound sustained in battle, heads north of Hadrian’s Wall with his Celt slave Esca (Jamie Bell) to retrieve the lost standard of the Ninth Legion and restore his family’s honour.

This axe and others like it can be seen being wielded by the British Celts, including the terrifying Seal People, throughout the movie as they fought the Roman interlopers. Made from wood with a fibreglass head painted and decorated to resemble roughly cast, etched metal, the axe looks roughly made, with various lengths of cord or thong wrapped around the shaft.

The axe is in good production used condition with grubby residue from its extensive use on the set and some minor damage to the axe head from its heavy usage on set. Measures approximately 102cm (40”)long.
