The magnetic SFX severed head of the bathing man from Quentin Tarantino's 2012 western, Django Unchained. In the film, a freed slave (Jamie Foxx), with the help of a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz), sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. After escaping from Australian escorts on his way to a mine, Django continues his murderous rampage, encountering the bathing man while en route back to Candyland. This head was made for an extended version of that brutal encounter, however it did not make it to the final cut of the film.
This decapitated head is made of foam with a latex skin and includes hand-punched hair along the scalp and face. Red foam gore can be seen at the neck where it has been severed from the man's body, and a resin vertebra is inset in the neck. Just above the mouth, this head has been cut in half at an angle. When separated, red painted latex gives the appearance of brain matter. Embedded within the two halves of the head are magnets which hold the piece together.
This item features some signs of wear from production use, but remains in overall excellent condition.
