Mothership model miniature components made for the production of Steven Spielberg's sci-fi drama Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The alien mothership returned abductees at Devil's Tower in Wyoming.

This lot comes from the collection of veteran model maker Dave Jones. It consists of one reddish-brown-painted foam and gel-layer upper-panel quarter-section; three silver-painted metallic components; a silver-painted resin component with red acrylic rods in holes; three clear acrylic rods with domed end-caps; a wood block with black masking tape; and an L-bent, U-shaped halogen bulb. The lot exhibits pitting, scratches, chipping, and cracking. Dimensions: (largest) 14" x 14" x 1.5" (35.5 cm x 35.5 cm x 4 cm)
