A set of three matted production stills with handpainted overlays from Steven Spielberg's sci-fi drama Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) and others witnessed a group of small UFOs. This lot originates from the collection of Douglas Trumbill, the visual effects pioneer responsible for the film's effects.

This lot features three production stills on black matboard, featuring various model miniatures depicting car-occupied roads and people-occupied park areas. Each piece features various hand-painted black and gray overlays, with one of the stills featuring a horizontal red linemark terminating mid-way. The lot exhibits minor edgewear. Dimensions: (each) 14.5" x 9.5" x 0.25" (37 cm x 24.25 cm x 0.75 cm)
