This lot will be auctioned on Friday, November 4th. Ringo Starr's necktie, originally offered as the prize in a competition held by television magazine The Viewer in 1964. The black silk knitted tie is presented on a display, alongside an original letter from the magazine dated "15th January 1964", which is addressed to the original winner and signed on behalf of the Beatles' drummer. The display also features a promotional print of all four Beatles wearing similar ties and holding roses. The letter displays discolouration from age, and there are some minor scratches to the display frame. Dimensions (display): 82.5 cm x 61.5 cm x 3 cm (32 1/2" x 24 1/4" x 1 1/4")
