A Pinocchio and his Boat prop from the production of classic family tale The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996). This was used for the scene when Pinocchio (Jonathan Taylor-Thomas) goes searching for Geppetto (Martin Landau) at sea and is subsequently swallowed whole by Lorenzini (Udo Kier) who has turned into a mammoth whale. Pinocchio and other animatronic creatures in the film were created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop, this was due to Henson’s initial involvement with the project ten years earlier when the idea for the film was first broached.
The model is constructed with light wood, including the puppet and oars. The boat has been painted a very light green and has ‘sea wear’ detailing dotted over. Pinocchio is painted light brown, with darker hair and blue eyes, he is also wearing a small beige cotton jacket which has been given intentional distress for the purpose of the story. The oars have also been painted a very light brown/beige. There is a hole in the bottom of the boat in order for the controls to access the puppet.

This beautifully detailed item measures 74cm x 33cm x 12cm (29” x 13” x 4.75”) approximately and is in excellent production used condition. A fantastic item from a family favourite.
