Sebastian Shaw's (Kevin Bacon) Nuclear Reactor from Matthew Vaughn's 2011 superhero prequel, X-Men: First Class. Set in 1962 during the Cold War, young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and a group of mutants are recruited by the United States government to bring down a megalomaniac who plans to ignite World War III in order to usher in a new era of mutants. Shaw can be seen harnessing the power of this prop near the end of the film as the X-Men intervene during his provocation of the Cuban missile crisis.
Resembling a nuclear submarines reactor, this mechanical prop has been built into a rig that allowed it to raise up from below the set as Shaw enters the engine room. Built from metal and plastic, the reactor prop has been outfitted with LED lights within the plastic rods, and includes Tridonic Atco ballasts and a control servos for operating the device. This large prop has been welded to a rectangular metal support structure, allowing it to stand upright.
The prop shows some wear due to production use and storage, and while the original electronic components are included, this piece has not been tested for function. Due to the size and weight of this item, special shipping arrangements will be required. Please request a quote prior to purchase.
