Sir John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins) stunt double-barrelled shotgun from Joe Johnston's 2010 horror movie The Wolfman.
Brought back to his family’s estate to investigate the death of his brother, Shakespearean actor Lawrence Talbot (Benicio del Toro) finds himself bitten by a werewolf. Suffering fits and terrible dreams he eventually recovers, but it’s not long before the darkness within him is unleashed.
This gun and others like it were made for the production to be used by Sir John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins) during the production and can be seen many times throughout the film as Sir John is quite partial to keeping this 'protective device' close at hand. This stunt gun is made from hardened rubber as this is much safer to use on set during the high-action scenes. The barrel and metal parts are painted a weathered black and the body of the gun is painted to resemble real wood.
This is a beautifully crafted piece with ornate patterning on the metal sections. It does show signs of obvious production use with some paint slightly rubbed off. It remains, however in good overall condition.
