A Dum-Dum gun made for the production of Robert Zemeckis' cartoon and live-action mashup Who Framed Rodger Rabbit. In the film, Eddie (Bob Hoskins) switches his real gun out for a cartoon one before entering Toontown. Eddie's new oversized gun shoots .38 bullets which are later referred to as 'Dum-Dum' bullets.
During filming, a stand-in gun was utilized as the cartoon gun was added post production. This piece was cast from the original mold as a gift to members of the production. Cast in resin, this gun is painted with grey primer. This gun shares features with the one that was later animated in including an over-sized, cartoonish barrel, grip, and hammer.
This piece shows some signs of wear, including light scuffs to the primer and a small amount of cracking near the hammer, but remains in overall great condition.
