Our expert's notes

A set of hair samples from various productions. These samples come directly from the estate of Stuart Freeborn, the legendary make-up and creature effects artist. Freeborn worked on such classic films as Oliver Twist and 2001: A Space Odyssey, and he created many of the famous characters from the original Star Wars trilogy.

The set includes ten samples bound by string, featuring black, white, brown and grey artificial hair. It also includes a brown braided hair sample and six further samples wrapped in paper, featuring black, brown and ginger artificial hair. One of the paper wrappers features production notes from the 1986 comedy horror Haunted Honeymoon. A loose paper wrapper features dialogue from the 1975 musical comedy The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother. Freeborn worked as make-up artist on both films.

The lot is in very good condition.
