A set of four hand-annotated personal scripts belonging to the legendary Stan Laurel, one-half of the comedy double act Laurel and Hardy. Laurel's film career began in 1917 and from 1927 he worked exclusively with his comedy partner Oliver Hardy until Hardy's death in 1957. He was awarded an honorary Academy Award in 1961 "for his creative pioneering in the field of cinema comedy."

The lot features four scripts: a revised final script for "Good Neighbors" (released as "The Big Noise"), dated "February 17, 1944," and annotated in ink and pencil; a revised script of "The Home Front," dated "July 31, 1943"; a temporary script of "The Dancing Masters," dated "May 20, 1943" and featuring a page of Laurel's handwritten notes tucked inside; and a script of "Air Raid Wardens," dated "August 18, 1942" and annotated in ink and pencil. The "Good Neighbors" script has Laurel's handwritten signature on the cover and "Air Raid Wardens" also has an ownership signature.

The scripts are housed in a black custom clamshell box, embossed in gilt, "Laurel & Hardy - Scripts - Stan Laurel's - Personal - Copies." This is a rare opportunity to own production pieces which previously belonged to one of comedy's greats. Dimensions: (box) 12.5" x 10.5" x 2.75" (31.5 cm x 27 cm x 7 cm)
