A costume display of Frankenstein’s Monster from Stephen Sommers 2004 monster mashup Van Helsing. Set in the late 1880’s, monster hunter Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is sent to Transylvania to stop Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) from using Victor Frankenstein’s research as part of his vial scheme. This towering display features Frankenstein’s monster standing on stone blocks, and consists of an original costume dressed on a urethane body cast from the original molds. The monster’s body pays homage to the classic Universal design, complete with bolts in the neck, and staples and valves embedded in the patchwork skin that is scarred throughout. Frankenstein’s monster is dressed in a production made costume, which consists of a patchwork leather long coat, pants, and custom makeshift shoes. The monster includes numerous attachments, including a bio-mechanical resin leg brace with a functioning piston on the right leg, resin wrist shackles, and a urethane belt which resembles steel plating.

Frankenstein’s monster is mounted to a wood display base which has been fashioned to appear as though it is made of stone, complete with foam stones around the perimeter. The display shows minor wear due to elements being used during the production and its time on display, however the piece remains in good condition.
