A helmet worn in the adaptation of Homer’s great epic Troy, starring Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom and Eric Bana. After falling for the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger), Trojan prince Paris (Orlando Bloom) smuggles her aboard the ship of his brother, Hector (Eric Bana) to take her to Troy. Seeking revenge, the Greek armies led by Agamemnon (Brian Cox) and the legendary warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt) set sail for Troy, where one of history’s greatest wars will be waged.
This helmet was worn by the fabled Greek warrior Achilles as he does battle on the sands of Troy and was made specifically for Brad Pitt in the role of Achilles, the helmet designed to fit perfectly on the Myrmidon leader’s head. Made of fibreglass with a thick black plume of synthetic hair running from the crown to the back of the neck, the helmet is finished to appear as though it is made of blackened bronze, with faint traces of metallic bronze still present in the recesses of the helmet’s elaborate decoration and along the rims of the helmet’s distinctive long face plates. The cheeks are lined with leather for the wearer’s comfort, though the scalp is not lined due to how close-fitting the helmet has been made.

Well used on the production with traces of sand still present from its use in Malta and Mexico, the helmet remains in an overall very good production-used condition, and comes presented on a stunning light-up display base featuring the film’s logo, a short description of the piece. The helmet stands 60cm (23.5”) on its base.
