A prop cheque used by Dan Aykroyd in the John Landis’ comedy Trading Places.

Successful executive Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and homeless beggar Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) lives’ cross paths when they unknowingly become part of a bet, created by Louis’ employers the Duke brothers.

This blank cheque comes from Louis Winthorpe III’s cheque book – cheques like this were seen when he tried to cash a large cheque at the bank and was declined. Printed on cream patterned paper, the cheque is one from a complete book of cheques created for the film, each featuring different numbers. Numbered ‘434’ the cheque features Louis’ name and the text ‘Security United Bank, Philadelphia, PA, 19109’.

The item comes beautifully presented in a custom built framed display with laser-cut mount board featuring the classic movie title and two stills from the film. The cheque remains in excellent condition.
