A working Magnasync Moviola from Tippett Studio. After completing his work on Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Phil Tippett created Tippett Studio with his partner Jules Roman. The studio specializes in stop-motion and CG animation. Moviolas were used by editors to view film while editing.

This Magnasync UL-20-CS Moviola is made of metal, painted seafoam green, mounted on wheels for easy movement, features picture and sound heads and was designed with a speaker and bulb operated film viewing screen. The machine is operated by using several dials, switches and pedals to control the movement of sound and film reels. The item plugs into a standard 120-volt wall outlet and its mechanical components remain operational although it has not been tested with film. A four slot film counter made of metal with toothed gears for 35mm film and a box with three unused bulbs are also included with the lot.

The sound head is missing a belt, no display bulb is currently installed and the item shows general wear from usage throughout leaving the item in overall fair condition. 31” x 26” x 56” (78.75 cm x 66 cm x 142.25 cm)
