A wooden Mitchell tripod from Tippett Studio. After completing his work on Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Phil Tippett created Tippett Studio with his partner Jules Roman. The studio specializes in stop-motion and CG animation.

This wooden tripod is topped with a coated metal head mount and features length adjustable legs. The legs are designed to lock at a length with a dual knob tightening mechanism on each. Each leg ends in a coated metal foot with metal pins for stability. ‘Tippett’ is stenciled onto each side of the head mount in yellow paint. A nylon strap is fives to the bottom of one leg to bind the legs when closed.

The item shows some scuffs, scrapes and dents throughout from use in the studio leaving it in fair condition. Dimensions (closed): 8” x 9” x 44” (20.25 cm x 23 cm x 111.75 cm)
