Leslie Chow's (Ken Jeong) Smith & Wesson .38 Special used in Todd Phillips' 2013 comedy sequel, The Hangover Part III. In the film, the Wolf Pack is thrust into another unwanted adventure when an angry gangster named Marshall (John Goodman) kidnaps Doug (Justin Bartha) as insurance to force his friends to hunt down Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) to retrieve his stolen gold. Chow can be seen brandishing this style of firearm in the film when the Wolf Pack accidentally unleash Chow's cannibalistic roosters that he trains for cockfighting.
This dense rubber firearm was cast from an actual S&W .38 and includes manufacturer markings on the side of the weapon. The gun has been painted black with a custom marble-white grip at the request of actor Ken Jeong. Stunt weapons such as this piece are commonly used for distance shots where a hero piece is not needed; they are lighter and therefore easier for the actors to handle. They are also used for stunt sequences where the actor could possibly fall on the prop and injure themselves if they were holding the hero version.
This item comes presented in a custom-built opening frame display with a UV-Plexi facing over a laser-cut mount board featuring the film’s title as well as two stills from the film. The display can be easily opened and closed by use of magnets on the side, allowing for easy access to the prop, which remains in very good condition.
The violent crime reduction bill means that this particular prop can only be sold to customers who reside outside the UK. Generally speaking, it is illegal for a resident of the UK to buy this item.
