This is a stunt Jaffa ceremonial fighting stick used in the popular science fiction series Stargate SG-1. Used in Season 10 Episode 17: "Talion" near the end of the episode when Teal'c (Christopher Judge) confronts, and fights Arkad (Craig Fairbrass). While Teal'c uses a plain and straight pole to fight, Arkad uses this curved fighting stick. Towards the end of the fight scene it is revealed that the fighting stick is actually a sword, and Arkad uses it to stab Teal'c. This version of the fighting stick does not have a concealed sword, it is the stunt version made of soft rubber, painted black, with a support core to keep its shape. There are golden lines of paint wrapping around the stick in a swirling design, and on either end, there are Jaffa symbols written in the same gold paint. The stick measures approximately 61.5” x 2” (156cm x 5cm). The support core was bent due to the intense fight sequence and there is visual wear to the rubber and paint, but this piece is in poor condition. The item includes a Certificate of Authenticity from MGM Studios.
