Original hand-drawn concept art by Tom Jung made for Irvin Kershner’s Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. Known as a prolific and talented advertising artist, Tom Jung produced this image of Darth Vader during early stages of promotional development for the film. Jung would eventually use inspiration from these conceptual stages to produce Empire’s ‘Style B’ poster which displays Vader towering over a collage of characters and scenery from the film.
Drawn with charcoal, this piece shows Vader extending out his lightsaber with one arm while resting the other near his waist. Tom Jung’s signature is present to the right of the drawing’s center. This piece is measures approximately 17” x 13” (43 cm x 33 cm) and is presented in a beautiful custom frame measuring 28” x 24 ¼” x 1 ¾” (71 cm x 62 cm x 4 cm). This piece shows minimal wear and is in overall good condition.
