A casting of a Millennium Falcon landing foot model miniature from the production of Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This backup casting was created by the Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) model miniature department as one of the front landing feet for the Millennium Falcon model miniature referred to as the "4-foot model".
The Empire Strikes Back is considered by many fans to be the best film within the Star Wars franchise. It was nominated for three Academy Awards® and won for Best Sound, as well as a Special Achievement Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects. It was the highest-grossing film of 1980 and remains the 13th highest-grossing film of all time when adjusted for inflation.
This resin casting, featuring cast-in paneling details, was painted with a gray primer before ultimately being left unfinished. The lot shows evidence of wear consistent with handling and age. Dimensions: 3.5" x 4.5" x 1" (9 cm x 11 cm x 3 cm)
