Notepad with handwritten walker and tauntaun animation notes by Phil Tippett from Irvin Kershner’s sci-fi classic Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. Phil Tippett animated the tauntauns and Imperial walkers for the film by utilizing stop-motion animation.

This legal pad features Tippett’s handwritten notes on the creation of the sequence, including lists of shots, action setups, and materials for building the stop-motion puppets. The notes also feature small sketches and diagrams that map out the way the puppets might be assembled. There are approximately 20 pages in the legal pad. One interesting example of a handwritten note in this lot is ‘Speeder always faster than cam.’

The papers show minor wear due to age and production use but remain in good condition. Dimensions: 11 ¾” x 8 ½” (30 cm x 21.5 cm)
