STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980)
LUCASFILM (1981)

Intergalactic passports were handed out to the film crew, press and visitors to authorize access to the set of The Empire Strikes Back. This George Lucas-signed item belonged to Thomas G. Smith, who spent several years as ILM's General Manager. Lucas's signature suggests that this may have been among the first passports filled out at Lucasfilm; in fact, this is the first one signed by Lucas to appear. The writing on the inner pages next to Smith's photo is likely the work of the ILM art department, potentially including Joe Johnston.
