Boba Fett's (Jeremy Bulloch) hero screen, photo, and serial number-matched EE-3 carbine rifle from Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett - one of the most feared bounty hunters in the known galaxy - was one of six hired by Darth Vader to capture the crew of the Millennium Falcon, and eventually caught up with them in Cloud City. He then appeared to meet his end in the gut of the Sarlacc in Return of the Jedi, but because of the character's tireless appeal, he has since been "resurrected" in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
George Lucas originally based the character on Clint Eastwood's The Man with No Name from Sergio Leone's Dollar Trilogy. Legendary concept artist Ralph McQuarrie had input on the character design, but ultimately, Fett was finalized and credited to Joe Johnston, who later directed The Rocketeer, Jumanji and Captain America: The First Avenger. His mystique and design captivated audiences, in turn making him one of the most revered characters in the entire Star Wars universe.
Much like Chewbacca's bowcaster, which sold in Propstore's Los Angeles Spring 2025 Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, this is, to the best of all known archival research and photographic evidence, the only hero EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back. While stunt versions and derivative castings were produced for later films, this is the original prop. Crucially, the carbine has been conclusively identified by its serial number and photo-matched by details on the stock, directly confirming its provenance.
As with all iconic Star Wars weaponry, this piece is anchored in real-world history, yet was reimagined for the Star Wars universe. The base is a genuine 1917 Webley & Scott No.1 Mark I flare pistol, originally manufactured for British military use in World War I. Prop makers transformed it with hand-applied greebles and vintage components to craft a weapon that feels both grounded and otherworldly. The result is a unique artefact of film history: a practical, tangible prop embodying the essence of Star Wars production design.
The blaster was stripped back to the base flare pistol post-production, and has since been carefully restored to how it looked in the films through the addition of replica greebles and accoutrements, which have been intentionally weathered and distressed to be as accurate as possible. The flare pistol is the only original element of the lot. In addition to the replica elements, the scope mount has undergone some sympathetic restoration. Dimensions: (largest) 80.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 23 cm (31.75" x 3.75" x 9")
