An Original 8D8 Droid Concept Sketch from Richard Marquand’s 1983 science fiction classic, Star Wars - Episode Six - Return of the Jedi. This droid head is believed to have been created by Fred Hole, the Art Director for the film, who’s work ultimately earned an Academy Award nomination. An early production concept sketch, the droid pictured here likely evolved into the torture droid used to torture and dismantle droids within Jabba's Palace. The sketch was produced on vellum paper in pen and grey inks. There is a small black scribble by the upper right hand corner of the page, likely produced by the artist during production. The piece measures 16”x12” (41cm x 30cm) and despite two small creases on the right corners it remains in great, production used condition.
