A Mariano Diaz autographed Shinzon (Tom Hardy) front view illustration from the production of Stuart Baird’s 2003 sci-fi film Star Trek: Nemesis.

This hand-drawn illustration has been rendered on tracing paper and features the costume concept of Shinzon, the clone of Human Starfleet captain Jen-Luc Piccard (Patrick Stewart). It features a form-fitting body suit, knee-high boots and a long coat with a cropped front, exaggerated shoulders and armoured-style panelling around the chest and shoulders. Diaz’s autograph is hand-signed in pencil at the bottom of the illustration next to the title ‘Shinzon The Nemesis’, and the letter ‘D’ has been marked in the top right corner for reference. This costume concept is akin to the final design seen on screen, with a few detail differences.

The illustration copy exhibits minor creasing from production use and handling. The left edge has been hand-cut to follow the shape of Shinzon’s cape. Overall, it remains in very good condition.
