A double-sided, hand-painted city view matte painting from the production of Russell Mulcahy's superhero film The Shadow. Shiwan Khan (John Lone) used his psychic abilities to compel a sailor (Patrick Fischler) to jump off the Empire State Building.

This lot consists of two matte paintings rendered in mixed media on opposite sides of a single oversize framed glass panel hand-labeled "MP 10." One depicting an overhead perspective of the Empire State Building is hand-painted by matte artist supervisor Christopher Evans, while the other depicting a street-level view of nearby buildings is painted by special visual effects supervisor Michael Pangrazio. This lot exhibits notable paint marks and flaking. Dimensions: 49.5" x 61" x 0.5" (125.75 cm x 155 cm x 1.5 cm)
