A stunt sword used in the sci-fi action film Serenity. Pursued by the Alliance and the merciless Operative (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and with everyone they know being killed, Captain Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) and his crew must protect assassination target River Tam (Summer Glau) and confront a dark secret from the Alliance’s past.
This bladed weapon and others like it were used by the zealous Operative as he carried out his work on behalf of the Alliance, with this lightweight stunt version used for safety purposes during scenes when a close-up was not required . This resin bladed weapon is finished with a silver appliqué to give it a polished appearance and has a black plastic handle with black cord inlaid to help give the user a better grip. The blade itself has a repeating rectangular pattern along the top edge which still has fake blood present from its use in the film’s many action scenes.

Well-used on the production, the sword displays some wear from use, with loss of some of the silver film and wear to the blade and handle. However, in spite of this wear, the piece remains in overall good condition.
