A damaged reaver mace weapon from Joss Whedon’s 2005 sci-fi film Serenity.

Although this weapon is not obviously seen on screen, Reavers used all manner of improvised spiked and sharpened weapons. Made from foam rubber with a metal core it consists of a rounded ball on a long handle, spikey nuts and bolts protruding from the ball and a chain wrapped below it. The opposite end of the handle is wrapped in strips of leather and features a split at the end of the handle indicating it was once part of a larger weapon. It has been hand-painted and intentionally distressed to look well-used and old.

The weapon has some wear from production use and age, including scuffing, cracks and peeling on the leather, but overall remains in a good condition.
