Captain Mal Reynolds' (Nathan Fillion) costume with a screen-matched jacket from Joss Whedon's Serenity. Mal, captain of the Serenity, wore his costume when he led the ship's crew in a bank robbery before they were ambushed by the cannibalistic Reavers, as well as when he provided sanctuary from the Alliance and Dr. Simon Tam (Sean Maher) to Tam's psychic sister River (Summer Glau). Intentional distressing on the jacket's lapels screen-match to when Mal faced-off against the Operative (Chiwetel Ejiofor) in Inara's (Morena Baccarin) sanctum.

Serenity was nominated for 10 awards and won a total of nine awards. Included in the wins are a Saturn Award® to Summer Glau for Best Supporting Actress and a SFX Award® for Best Actress to Summer Glau. It is today regarded as a cult classic for its fusion of science-fiction and Western-style aesthetics.

This lot consists of a brown suede coat with leather cuffs and a cast rubber piece on the left shoulder with three metal fasteners along the front; a light brown shirt with hidden snaps along the front to secure it closed, as well as two decorative magnetic fasteners; high-waisted brown pants that fasten with snaps on each side and two molded rubber pieces, similar to that attached to the shoulder of the overcoat, are similarly adhered to the left leg; suspenders made from molded rubber with small metal fasteners labeled "Mal Stunt" in silver-color ink; and a brown leather belt, holster, and ammo pouch. This lot exhibits a hole in the shirt's back.
