A Brandon James post-op mask and a photograph of Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) from the production of Dan Dworkin's Scream: The TV Series. James wore various masks throughout Season 1 while recovering from surgeries meant to correct his disfigured face. During this process, he was framed for the 1994 Lakewood murders due to his deformities, and was later blamed for targeting the daughter of his former neighbor, Emma Duval.
Scream: The TV Series was franchise co-creator and executive producer Wes Craven's final project. James' masks were designed by renowned SFX makeup artist and conceptual designer Eddie Yang to resemble more primitive versions of the iconic Ghostface mask from Craven's Scream.
This asymmetrical foam-padded burlap James mask was created by production but ultimately unseen in the final cut. It is molded around a fiberglass shell, lined with black cloth, and applied with adhesive spray, and features a fastening strip strap on the reverse with gray thread stitching around the mouth. Also included is a sepia-colored print photo of the young Duval made by production for the Season 2 episode "Let the Right One In." The mask exhibits adhesive residue on its interior and some loosening to the burlap's threads from production wear, as well as a corner fold to the photo.
