A Ferrari racing suit worn by Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.

This Ferrari racing suit was worn by Lauda during the ill-fated race at the Nürburgring where he badly crashed, ultimately costing him the world championship, and nearly his life. The pivotal scene was achieved with a combination of real fire, CGI, stunt performers and the main actors. Made by OMP, this striking red suit is made from fire resistant material marked as size 50, with zip front and elasticated cuffs. The suit features various sponsor logos including Agip, Heuer and Goodyear and a patch on the chest that reads “Niki Lauda PIPO”. The lining of the jumpsuit is marked “Daniel Bruhel, Niki Lauda, Ferrari 1976, Fire, 50”, with “D Bruhel 50 – Rush Movie” handwritten on the belt. This costume remains in excellent production-used condition, and is supplied with its original wardrobe labels and bags.
