Moonpie's (John Beck) signature jacket from the 1975 action thriller Rollerball. This style of jacket was worn by the Houston Rollerball team members as part of their casual uniform when not dressed up in heavy duty protective gear which even then won't guarantee survival... This one in particular was worn by champion game player Jonathan E.'s (James Caan) 'right-hand-man' throughout the movie set in a corporate controlled future where a deadly bloodsport known as “Rollerball” represents the world.
Interestingly the jacket started life as a simple shop-bought cream coloured polyester jacket that was adapted by the renowned costume designer Julie Harris to the signature design seen in many scenes. The lightweight jacket features a zipper at the front with a single button at the bottom and each cuff (one is missing), a pocket on each side and two orange stripes on the left collar. It is still in very good condition for its age with a little soiling most likely through production use.
