A food dispenser panel made for the Ridley Scott prequel Prometheus. Led to a distant planet by ancient wall paintings, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) join a corporate-sponsored mission to discover the source of life on Earth. But in the ruins of an alien space craft, the human explorers soon find that all is not as it seems, and a great threat lurks in its deep holds.

Finished in a range of whites, greys and bare aluminium, this dispenser panel can be seen at multiple times throughout the film as the crew spend time in the Prometheus’ mess area, most notably when the crew wake up from hypersleep and get their smoothies before their mission briefing. The panel itself is made of wood and plastic and features a range of compartments and slots for food containers and supplies as well as being fitted with a range of lights that can be activated to give the panel a bright, back-lit look.

On the front of the dispenser units are small panels with the Weyland Corp logo, one of which still lights up, and at its centre is an original video display panel which runs a range of video graphics used in the film. The graphics are actually lower resolution versions that the ones used in the film and were originally created for exhibition purposes. The original displays were connected to DVD players however the panel has now been fitted with a digital converter in order for them to be played on SD card. The panel comes with a small remote control in order to power it up and has instructions on how to use it.

Well used on set, the panel has a fair amount of wear from its time in use as well as from when it was removed from the set for exhibition use. Parts of the fascia have been damaged with cracked and broken pieces at corners and some compartments slightly out of place, but overall the panel remains in a very good production-used condition, measuring approximately 195cm x 115cm x 50cm (76.75“ x 45.25“ x 19.75“).
