Prop Store is proud to present an exclusive offering of ‘The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists’ stop motion puppets, props and set pieces from Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation.

The Country Parson is unfortunate enough to find himself caught up in a chase as Charles Darwin attempts to steal the Pirate Captain’s beloved ‘parrot’ Polly! This poor chap can be seen leisurely riding his penny-farthing along the quiet backstreets of London, before he is dramatically thrown from it as the Pirate Captain takes it for himself in order to catch up with the devious Darwin! The Country Parson’s clothing is made from foam latex and his hat and hair from resin. There is a pair of small metal plates attached to the soles of his shoes that were used throughout filming in order for him to be placed atop his penny-farthing – although judging by the way he is flung from it, perhaps he was not placed securely enough! He has silicone skin with a small amount of plasticine surrounding his eyes and eyelids to allow for maximum expression. In addition, he has a removable mouth piece made from ‘Rapid Prototyped’ resin featuring the reference ‘Englebert 25/05/10’ which is attached to the jaw using a small magnet. He is built around an intricate internal metal armature and also features wiring within the tails of his jacket allowing for him to be easily posed and animated. There is a small amount of cracking present around his back and elbows, as well as a slight cut in the palm of his left hand but is otherwise is excellent condition. He is presented on a bespoke display stand, and measures approximately 32cm (12.25”) tall, with the stand measuring approximately 13.5x12.5cm (5.25x4.75”) around the base.

It's a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Along the way they do battle with the pirate-hating Queen Victoria and team up with a young Charles Darwin, but never lose sight of what a pirate loves best: adventure!
