A framed limited edition hand-painted cel showing Pinocchio coming to life from the 1940 Walt Disney animated film Pinocchio. The Walt Disney Company released this cel in the 1990s, showing the Blue Fairy visiting the workshop and bringing Pinocchio to life as Jiminy Cricket looks on. To achieve the limited edition cels, Disney artists hand-inked over the original animation drawing and then hand-painted the colours using acrylic-based paints. The printed background was also reproduced by a Disney artist using the original paintings, sketches, and frames as reference. This example was one of 275 editions created, with this example being numbered "163/275" and bearing a Walt Disney Company seal in the lower right corner. It comes mounted within a metal frame with plexiglass and features a hanging wire on the reverse.
