A Light Board from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. This light board was used as set decoration in the Shatterdome, the Jaeger hub, near the beginning of the film.

The light board is made of metal, painted white. It features four fluorescent lights inside the board controlled by two switches. These lights have not been tested. A picture of Kaiju tissue is pasted to the white, opaque plastic board that fits into the light panel. The image is purple and black on black paper, and features a close-up picture of cells and tissue. The image has the words “Kaiju tissue sample” printed in the corner, and the PPDC logo with a series of letters, numbers, and Chinese characters identifying the specimens. The light board shows some wear due to production use and storage, but is in overall good condition. This piece measures 22” x 20” x 4” ( 56 cm x 51 cm x 10 cm).
