A Drift Pel Case from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorize earth, so humans build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. In order to control the Jaegers, two pilots merge their minds, called “drifting.” The “drift” causes a series of flashbacks, all with muted color tones. This case was painted grey for such a sequence.

The case is a plastic pel case which has been painted grey to coincide with the aesthetic of the “drift” sequences. It has metal trim, and four metal clasps that keep the case closed. The case is hollow and empty. The case features some wear due to production use and storage but remains in overall good condition. This piece measures 18” x 13” x 11” (46 cm x 33 cm x 28 cm).
